Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Operations Manager to oversee and support the daily operations of our branch. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating operational activities across the yard and commercial office, leading the local Operations team, and ensuring efficient logistics, inventory, and operational processes. Ideally, you bring experience from the scaffolding industry and enjoy combining operational execution with people leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Branch Operations team
  • Manage daily operations following the company standard operating procedures in the area of yard and commercial office
  • Plan and control material requirements and logistic processes for the country
  • Analyse, prepare and interpret KPIs to improve operational performance
  • Inventory and demand management which includes quarterly Forecasting process (Demand Planning)  as well as operative management of inventory levels
  • Cost center and investment planning in the area of Operations
  • Planning and optimization of staff and material expenses
  • Take care of data quality and efficiency in the commercial office
  • Work with the Yard manager to effectively lead the branch team ensure procedures are followed
  • Work with the team to manage transport requirements and the costs of freight and haulage
  • Identify any areas for operational improvement of productivity and efficiency within the branch and its operations.
  • Responsible for the compliance with local laws and regulations (work safety, environment)
  • Coordination and carrying out of staff development programs for Operations employees in the branches

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship, MBO or equal
  • Experience in Operations within the scaffolding industry
  • Comfortable working with Excel, Word, Outlook, and willing to learn additional systems and software
  • Ability to motivate and lead operational teams while promoting a safe and efficient work environment
  • Reliable team leader with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and accurate way
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English

Basic Scaffolder – Hartlepool

Basic Scaffolder – Hartlepool Power Station

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Basic Scaffolder to join the team at Hartlepool Power Station for site works.

This role involves working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start available. Applicants must be CTC cleared.

The position is paid under NAECI agreements at £22.50 per hour and is fixed-term until approximately 29 October 2026. Applicants must be local to the site.

Key responsibilities

  • Help dismantle scaffold structures.
  • Perform all required scaffolding tasks on site.

Requirements

  • Valid CISRS card.
  • Previous scaffolding experience.

Scaffold Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Scaffold Design Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing scaffold design drawings, providing scaffolding and temporary works design schemes through quality technical drawings using required programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design scaffolding structures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Produce detailed drawings, calculations, and design documentation
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to develop practical solutions
  • Conduct site visits when required to assess project needs and constraints
  • Ensure all designs comply with health and safety regulations
  • Provide technical support to project and operations teams
  • Review and approve design changes during project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in scaffold design or temporary works engineering
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards (e.g. TG20, SG4, Eurocodes)
  • Proficiency in design software and AutoCAD (or similar)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE or IStructE)
  • Experience with advanced design tools or structural analysis software
  • Knowledge of temporary works coordination.
