Job Summary
The Compliance Manager ensures that the organisation adheres to relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies. This role demands knowledge of compliance within the construction industry and practical scaffolding experience. Responsibilities include overseeing audits, developing training programmes, and maintaining safety and quality across projects.

Job Purpose
To ensure all scaffolding operations meet legal, regulatory, and company standards, including safety practices, audits, inspections, and guidance to maintain full compliance with NASC, TG20, SG4, and related scaffolding legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Oversight

Monitor and enforce compliance with Work at Height Regulations, TG20:21, SG4:22, and NASC guidance.

Keep internal policies aligned with regulatory changes.
Audit & Inspection

Conduct regular audits on scaffolding structures and work practices.

Produce detailed audit reports and track non-conformances.

Develop a digital inspection regime.
Training & Development

Deliver or coordinate training for scaffolders, supervisors, and site managers.

Ensure operatives hold valid CISRS cards and suitable training.
Documentation & Record-Keeping

Maintain accurate inspection records, incident reports, training logs, and certifications.

Oversee scaffold handover certificates, design documentation, and risk assessments.
Incident Investigation

Lead investigations into scaffolding incidents and near-misses.

Provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Liaison & Communication

Act as point of contact for regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Report compliance performance to senior leadership.
Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, design, and safety regulations.

Understanding of TG20, SG4, and NASC standards.

Ability to interpret scaffold design drawings.

Strong communication, attention to detail, leadership, and IT skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card or higher
-
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)

Minimum 5 years in scaffolding operations or compliance

Experience in audits and site inspections
Desirable:

CISRS Scaffold Inspection Card

Previous experience as Compliance or Health & Safety Manager in scaffolding or construction
